HS-50
Automatic Hole
Scanner
- This lightweight hand-held scanner improves test reliability and reduces
operator fatigue.
- Scanner provides simultaneous rotation and linear motion of the probe.
- Continuously variable rotational speed ranges from 40 to 120 RPM.
- Useable with shielded or unshielded probes.
- A wide range of compatible probe sizes are available.
- Convenient case stores scanner, probes and all accessories.

A portable, easy-to-transport carrying case houses the lightweight, hand-held
HS-50 Hole Scanner and its controls. The scanner accepts a wide range of
hole inspection probes, both shielded and unshielded, with the most popular
sizes being in the range of 3/16" to 1/2". The probe is
simultaneously rotated and linearly driven into and out of the hole via a thumb
operated rocker switch. Rotational speed are continuously variable from 40
to 120 RPM and the probe linear travel is .025" for each revolution.
The scanner also includes a control for setting the probe insertion depth
anywhere within the range of 0" to 1-1/2".

| RPM: |
Controls rotational speed of the scanner probe. |
| Depth Thumbwheel: |
Located on the top of the hand held scanner. Sets the depth of
probe insertion on the part under test. |
| Scanner Control: |
Three position rocker switch controlling direction of probe
travel. Center off position stops the probe rotation. |

The HS-50 can be used in conjunction with most eddy current equipment for
inspection of bolt holes. All you need is the proper probe, cable,
andHS-50 and an eddy current instrument.
